What is the Eligibility for Diploma in Information Technology?

Duration of the course?
The DIT is a part-time course consisting of six modules. The duration of the course is 144 hours spread over 12 weeks. Theory and practical sessions of 2 hours each shall be conducted on alternate days. Batches will commence in the months of January, April, July and October every year.

How many hours a day and how many days a week ?
2 hours a day.

Fees of the course?
Rs.3,500/- (Rupees Three Thousand Five Hundred only) inclusive of the application form fee, is to be paid before the commencement of course by cash at the collecting branch of the Bank of India or by DD drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of C-DAC, ACTS and payable at the place where it is being deposited in the collection branch of the Bank of India

Can I secure my admission for the next batch?
Yes
Is the course affiliated to the university ?
No, the course is conducted under the auspices of the Advanced Computing Training School of C-DAC, which is a scientific society of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India.
Is there any financial grant received by C-DAC to conduct this course?
No
How are the PC’s allotted in the lab?
Two students for one PC
Do we get the course material from C-DAC?
Yes
Examination of the modules?
A comprehensive Theory exam encompassing all the modules is conducted at the end of the course. Internal Practical exam for all the applicable modules will be conducted.
Evaluation Process?
Laboratory evaluation has a weightage of 120 marks out of total of 300 marks. Only those students who have scored at least 40% marks in the Internal Evaluation are eligible to appear for theory exam.
The Theory will have the weightage of 180 marks.
The final theory exam will take place on the Sunday of 13th week of the course.
Students scoring at least 40% marks in both the Laboratory evaluation as well as Theory Exam will be awarded the DIT by C-DAC with placement in a grade as per the Grading scale given below.

How is the grading done?

Re-examination of a particular module?
Those who are unable to clear the written examination may appear for re-examination with subsequent batches on payment of Rs.250/- as re-examination fee. However, the syllabus for each examination shall be that of the recently concluded batch of the DIT course
Certificates of the course?
The Certificates will be dispatched to the ATC’s in not more than 30 days from the date of the examination.
Library facility?
A very good library facility is provided at all the ATC’s
What is the scope of the course?
The students after completing the course will be able to do following things :
Working on Personal Computer or a Computer in a Network very confidently.
One will be able to manage one’s own files and folders efficiently.

Faculty of the ATC’s?
All the faculty of all the ATC’s are examined and approved by C-DAC, by conducting proper training programmes and conducting the proper evaluation of each of them in both theory and practicals.
Can I have the change of center?
You can change center after getting permission from present center, the new changing center under information to C-DAC, Pune.
Revision of the course contents, is it every three months?
No. The revision takes place once a year or whenever required.
If the course is done from ATC’s as published in the official course brochure, where will I get the certificate?
Certificate to successful candidates will be awarded by C-DAC, either through the real / virtual center or directly by post.
