Course StructureThe DIT is a part-time course consisting of six modules. The duration of the course is 144 hours spread over 12 weeks. Theory and practical sessions of 2 hours each shall be conducted on alternate days. Batches will commence in the months of January, April, July and October every year.
Eligibility
S.S.C. or equivalent qualification desirable. Applicants need not have any prior knowledge of using computers. Candidates will be admitted on the basis of scrutiny of their application form and on first cum first served basis, subject to availability of seats in the batch.
Fees
The course fee is Rs.3,500/- (Rupees Three Thousand Five Hundred
only).
This fee is non-refundable and is inclusive of course material, examination fee for the first attempt and the admission fees.
Computing Facilities
Theory and practical sessions will be conducted on alternate days. Students will be given 2 hours of computer time during the lab sessions on a dedicated client node to be shared by a pair of students.

The specifications given above are indicative of the computing setups that exist at the various ATCs. There may be minor variations at individual locations.
Evaluation Methodology
The student’s progress is reviewed throughout the duration of the course by evaluating his Laboratory Assignments. This Laboratory Evaluation has a weightage of 120 marks out of a total of 300 marks.
Only students who have scored 40% marks in the Laboratory Evaluation are eligible to appear for the Theory Examination.
A comprehensive Theory Examination encompassing all the modules is conducted at the end of the course. This examination, which is set and evaluated by
C-DAC, has a weightage of 180 marks out of a total of 300 marks. The written test will consist of multiple choice/objective questions.
The Theory Examination will take place on the Sunday of the thirteenth week following the date of commencement of the course.
Students scoring at least 40% marks in both the Laboratory Evaluation as well as Theory Examination will be awarded the Diploma in Information Technology by
C-DAC with placement in a grade as per the Grading Scale given below:

The results will be declared and certificates dispatched to the Authorised Training Centres in not more than 30 days from the date of the examination. Students who are unable to clear the written examination may appear for re-examination with subsequent batches on payment of
Rs. 250/- as examination fee. However, the syllabus for each quarterly examination shall be that of the recently concluded batch.
